Sujet: Intéressant On peut y lire: Here's A bitter pill to swallow for millions of health-consious Americans - a contreversial bill now working its way through Congress could shelve dietary supplement permanently. Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2003 Called the Dietary Supplement Safety Act of 2003 (DSSA), the bill gives the FDA the same massive powers over some popular nutritional supplements that it now holds over drugs. In fact, the DSSA would give the federal government's Food and Drug Administration the power to pull any supplement or category of supplements off the market after only one reported negative reaction! Not surprisingly, if passed, the bill will almost certainly drastically limit choices for the estimated 240-millions-plus Americains who regularly take health supplements - and supplements makers and their supporters are up in arms. "This bill (s.722 bill) not only focuses on contreversial supplements, such as ephedra, but all dietary supplements," David Seckman, executive director of the National Nutritional Foods Association, told the Enquirer. "It states that if one person experiences an adverse reaction to a supplement product, then the DFA may ban it from being sold!. "For example, if a person has an allergic reaction to vitamin C, then the manufacturer of that particular brand will have to prove to the FDA that it is safe or it can't stay on the market. "This means the FDA will be able to remove hundreds of products - and make these decisions even if a product was taken under conditions warned against by the company on the label. "If this legislation goes through, people will lose their rights as consumers." The DSSA was introduced in congress by Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, who said: "My bill provides that before you can sell these high-risk products, you must prove they are safe. This bill will save lives and restores America's confidence in the use of dietary supplements." But soon many legislators began findings fault with the bill. In April California Senator Dianne Feinstein announced a strong stand against the bill's passage because of the restrictions it imposes on consumers and the tremendous powers it grants to the FDA. "If adopted this bill would subject nearly all vitamins, minerals,herbal products and other supplements to a level of scrutiny that is both unwarranted and unnecessary. Products that have been used safely and beneficially for hundreds and in some casses, thousands - of years would be subject to clinical evaluation using standards that are at the complete discretion of the FDA," Sen. Feinstein said. "I am concerned this bill, by questioning the safety of any dietary supplement that receives even one complaint, will result in potentialy hundreds of products being removed from the marketplace. "Under this new legislation, the FDA has complete discretion to make this determination, regardless of wheter the products was used of whether the products was used under conditions cautioned against by the manufacturer on the label." Dr. Annette Dickinson, a nationally known nutrition expert and Prsident of Washington based Council for Rsponsible Nutrition, agreed. "There is no need for further legislation," Dr Dickinson told the Enquirer. "With the enormous numbers of people taking supplements, the FDA should simply place more extensive warning labels on teh products." Mon commentaire Ce magazine de potins artistiques n'est pas d'accord avec la venue de cette législation sur les suppléments alimentaires, comme s'apprête aussi de le faire santé Canada, parce qu'il vend beaucoup d'espaces publicitaires de produits amaigrissements miracle. On voit leur manque de sérieux, quand ils disent que la vitamine C pourrait être retirée du marché. Ce n'est qu'une exagération pour mettre de l'emphase sur leur désaccord. On ne peut laisser les fabricants, de produits qui entrent dans la catégorie des suppléments alimentaires, libre de faire ce qu'ils veulent. Car, ils sont majoritairement des arnaqueurs. En effet, du plus magouilleur aux plus sérieux des fabricants, ils offrent tous des produits pour la perte de poids. Par conséquent, leur mission n'est pas d'offrir des produits efficaces et sans danger, mais bien de faire de le plus d'argent possible. Ils sont tous des requins, ou en d'autres mots, des hommes d'affaires qui n'ont pas d'éthique et de moral en affaire. L'amaigrissement doit représenter plus du quart de leur chiffre d'affaire (je ne les sais pas précisément). Mais, je crois que, c'est le secteur le plus payant pour eux. Car, l'amaigrissement constitue un marché facile, il est conquis d'avance, obsession de la minceur exige. En effet, les femmes sont prêtent à acheter n'importe quoi pour perdre du poids (faire n'importe quoi!). Aucun, des suppléments alimentaires pour la perte de poids sont vraiment efficaces. Réalité, que connaissent très bien ces fabricants Donc, vendre un produit que l'on sait inefficace, c'est vouloir arnaquer les gens. Comme 100% des vendeurs de produits naturels font dans l'amaigrissement et ils sont tous malhonnêtes. Cette législation n'est pas seulement nécessaire pour retirer les produits potentiellement dangereux, mais aussi de retirer les produits qui sont inefficaces et inutiles. En d'autres mots, des empêcher de faire de fausses allégations, de prétendre qu'il existerait une substance qui ferait perdre du poids. En conclusion, cette législation est essentielle pour empêcher les gens, sans scrupule, d'abuser de la naïveté des femmes.
